One aspect of publishing that makes me nervous is that I can't change it once I hand it in. Maybe there will still be grammer or spelling mistakes, and sometimes I just want to keep making changes so it sounds better. There's like endless possibilies to make changes and once it's published sometimes I get a new idea. I think this makes me nervous because I get new ideas all the time and I'm afraid of not fixing silly mistakes that could affect my grade. I try to overcome this by letting other people check my work or using spell check on my computer to make it the best I can make it before I hand it in and I also try to think "they're always room for improvement."
ReplyDeleteI am comfortable will people reading my writing such as my teacher and other students. I don't worry about it because thy're aren't many people mean enough to say they hate it even if they do too bad for them. As long as I think its okay and I get a good grade on it.
~Michaela Sawaya
One aspect of publishing my writing to my teacher is that my teacher might not like my writing peice and does not understand my writing peice like I do. One way that I am comfortible for publishing my writing is that no kids can read my writing if I don't want anybody to read my writing.

One aspect of publishing that makes me nervous is when i hand the peper i i think i always forget something or that iu didnt add enough detail when i actually did. It makes me nervous because i think the teacher is going to give me a bad grade. Something i can do to overcome this discomfort is to look over my finished paper right before i hand it in and make sure i have everything.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect which im already comfortable with is my vocbulary and spelling. I know that when i hand in my paper everything is spelled right and i know that i used very good vocabulary in my writing.
i am comforatable with publishing my because im close to it, and i will cherish it forever and i cant screw that up.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of Publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that makes me really nervous is when there are other people who have longer pieces than your, or thiers is so much shorter that everyone else.I think this makes me nervous because I base my writing on what other people have for thier writing.Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is think about the writing and not the length of the writing piece.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is publishing dates. I think it makes me so nervous because I have to finish everything by a certain time .I cannot think of anything that can help me overcome this discomfort.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect that makes me nervous about publishing my writing is the fact that I will be judged on my personal work. I'm not embarrassed to have my writing judged, I just want people to enjoy it. I think it makes me nervous because I spend alot of time trying to find the right idea and use the best word choice. One way I could overcome this discomfort is by convincing myself that I tried my best, gave it a one-hundred percent effort, and will learn from whatever mistakes I make.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is the fact that since I am typing it, the computer has a spell checker. This means I can relax and not panic to try and figure out if I spelled words correctly. I think I am comfortable with this because I know the computer will not let me spell a basic word incorrectly. However, I am aware that the computer doesn't fix all grammatical errors. So, of course I will always proofread my writing.
I agree with Michaela, not Knowing if thiers on mistake on it, or a spelling mistake that once I hand it in I can't change it. But thier also the fact that people won't understand what the story really means. I also think that if you read it I also have trouble with that fact that I always second ghess myself with the story I write, and I usally end up doing the wrong story.
ReplyDeleteWhat really makes me nervous about handing in a published story is thinking, "could I have done better?" or "is this good enough?". When I hand in my writing I am revieled to be done with that topic and excited to be on a new subject.
ReplyDelete-Kim Guthrie
One aspect of publishing my writing that makes me nervous is that i dont always want teachers to read my work because i dont think its good and some things are just to personal for some people to read. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is just let people read my work, if its a teacher i can trust him/her.
ReplyDeletei agree with karli, when you say that "one aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is publishing dates." i agree it makes me feel like im rushed and i cant think of anything besised getting my work done.
ReplyDeletefootballgirl, who are you? You must sign your names - I'm not going to chase after you!
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is that i don't know if it is going to be good enough. I think it makes me so nervous because i get embarressed reading in front of people. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is let the teacher read it for me.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is because my writing is starting to make more sense. I think I'm already comfortable with it because it now makes more sense and it is interesting listening to it.
I agree with Samantha. I get nervous when I dont write as much as everyone else and that gets me witing more than I really should be writing and putting in detail from something that might not have happened.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of my writing that really makes me nervouse is handing my writing in.I think this makes me nervouse because sometimes I feel my writing isn't good enough, or I dicied to publish what I wrote and then the date it's due I don't like what I wrote any more. Something I can do to overcome this is pick a story I really like and maybe have a friend read it and tell me what they think of the story.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing that I already have a comfortable feeling about is giving my writing to a friend so they can read it. I think I'm already comfortable with showing my friends my writing, because they will tell me the truth, and what I should fix, and my friend and me always share what we write.
One aspect of publishing my writing that makes me nervous is that I am afraid that I will make lots of puctuation and grammar errors. I think that it makes me so nervous because I am scared that I might have done a bad job. I don't want to get a bad grade. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is that before I hand it in I will reread what I have written. I will make sure I read it out loud so I can hear my own mistakes.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is that I want the teacher to know how I write and can tell me what am I doing wrong so I can get better and better. I think I'm already comfortable with that I belive myself. I belive that I will do a good job and TRY not to think about me doing a bad job.
Karli-
ReplyDeleteKarli i agree with you on the publish dates I feel rushed and sometimes when i feel rushed I don't do as well, and it will be on my mind all day...I think one way you can over come this discomfort is by having someone edit your writing then go home and make a final copy that can be published, you can also hand the work in early.
Mat don't be to worry about handing in your writing and not having enough detail in your writing, just try your best and don't worry about if didn't put in enough detail just try your best.
ReplyDeleteMichael Urban
me to footballgirl.I get very nervous knowing that people will read my work. It gives me goosbumps
ReplyDeleteMatt, I think that looking over your paper before you hand in is a good idea. I do similar things and I read out loud to myself so I can hear my own mistakes. You can try it next time.
ReplyDeleteMichaela_97, I agree with you one hundred percent. I hate when you hand in an essay then all of a sudden you get that "Oh, I should have written this instead of that!" feeling. I also see what you mean when you say I am nervous that I didn't correct silly mistakes. It is really frustrating when you do so much work to make a sentence perfect and then you ruin it by forgetting to put a period.
ReplyDeleteSince I am in your English class, first period, I know that you are not afraid to share your writing with teachers and students. Whenever Ms Sills gives us the opportunity to share, your hand always shoots up. I think that is a good quality about you and was the perfect idea to write about.
One aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is definitly miss spellings.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect that makes me nervous about publishing my writing is that it might have one simple mistake and I missed it. I think that because it could have benn right in front of me and I could have seen it. Also something that makes me nervous about my writing is that when people judge it. I think that because people might make fun of it and I will get embarassed.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kim once you have handed in something it is done you can't change it I feel your pain Kim.
ReplyDeleteKarli--you should try to do a little at a time if your worried about the publishing date. When I first heard about it and that it was so soon I thought I would never get it done by thursday. But I try not to stress about it and I do a little bit for homework every night until its finished. That really helps. Also if you are typing you should have a written copy incase your printer runs out of ink or something.
ReplyDelete~Michaela Sawaya
I think I'm already comfortable with my writting because I think that for once I did good.
ReplyDeleteFootballgirlnfl I may agree with you but its just that its realy hard to let someone see.
One aspect of publishing that makes me nervous is the fact that I never know what exactly the teacher is looking for in my piece, so I never know what I might get points taken off for. I think it makes me so nervous because it could be a silly mistake, and then I regret making that mistake and I feel like I should have proofread my piece more carefully. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is to ask a few of my friends to read it for me, and see if they can pick out the mistakes, or a spot where I didn't add enough detail.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing that I am comfortable with is the topic I have written about, which will be something that is important to me. I think I am comfortable with this because I know that the teacher can't tell me that I picked the wrong subject. And since the topic is important to me, I know that I will probably have done a good job writing it.
One aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is turning it in on time. I think it makes me so nervous because because I can never get it done until the last minute. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is work harder and make sure i have it.
ReplyDelete-Anthony Smith
One aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is that sometimes it doesnt look as good as when I wrote it.I think it makes me so nervous because I think that I might not get all the points that I should have because some teachers take points off of the work because of neatness. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is that I might start to type things I am aloud to so it will be one thing to worry less about.
ReplyDeleteAlso One aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is presenting it to the teacher.I think it makes me so nervous because I am the kind of person that doesnt like to share my writting very often. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is to practice it at home to someone so that in school it will be easy for me to present.
What makes me nervous about publishing is that when you hand it in to the teacher thats when you think you've made a mistake and when she goes to grade your paper its like well did I pass did I fail what did I do wrong i bet I spelled this word wrong I know I got a bad grade and you just panic about it especially when its a big part of your grade you just wish you did better all because you think you've failed it happens alot with me and I stress and make a big deal over it and sometimes I pass but I still do something wrong and its like well my grade would have been better if i did this this or that a certain way and i just go hard on my self.
ReplyDeleteNoah I agree with you 100 percent. One thing that you said was that the computer had a spell checker which makes it much easier to write a final copy. Before you said this I had forgotten about it but now I can worry less about spelling mistakes....Thanks
ReplyDeleteFootballgirlnfl person, I think that if something is really too personal, you just shouldnt write it at all.
ReplyDelete-Anthony Smith
I agree with you kim I you do your published paper than you go ahead on a different subject that you know your good at and with me it works out perfectly because I hate being good at something then messing up and so i put my all into the project and I try to not get a bad grade also I try todo better and top my last grade.
ReplyDeleteOne thing i think about writer's workshop is that i don't want the teacher to read my work because i think that it is bad and they won't like it.plus i can't do the type of writings like"show don't tell" or the personal narratives
ReplyDeleteJessica Cheatom
One aspect of publishing my writing with which makes me nervous is if I look it over and it still has grammar mistakes or if its good or not, because usually i dont like getting bad grades on writing because writing is one of the things im good at.
ReplyDelete- payton.
onw aspect of pblishing my narrtive is kowing if all my grammer and dialouge is correct. i always find somting at the last min that shouldnt be there or makes an incorrect sentence fragment. i do not like the publishing dates it makes me feel like i have a limit to the naritive im doing and howmuch time i can put into it. tod brewer
ReplyDeletemrs sills fotballgirlnfl is britnney nappe
ReplyDeletei agrree with karlie and britney i fell whe there is a puliching date that i am pressured to hurry up my writing to finish it and i always put mistakes and errors
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing that makes me nervous is not knowing if the teacher likes the story or narrative that I wrote. I always get this feeling in my stomach when I hand in a paper. The only way for me to get over this fear is if I just take a deep breath and say to myself "you did a bomb job Bria don't worry."
ReplyDelete*Bria Foster
One aspect of publishing my writing that makes me nervous is wondering if Ms.Sills will like my personal narrative.I think one reasonI was so nervous was becuase I just thought that my narrative wasn't good enough. One way I overcame my nervousness was after I read my story I saw everyone liked it so I felt better.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing that I feel comfortable with is spelling and puncuation.think I feel comfortable with this becuase. I had three people read it before I typed it and the computer spell checker too.
-Victoria Carroll
One aspect of publishing that makes me nervous is not knowing if I wrote one or two sentences that didnt make sence. The only way I can get over this fear is by waiting to get my paper back and to see my mistakes and trying not to repeat them.
ReplyDelete-Kylie Harris
I agree with Karli(and all the other people who agree with her) sometimes you get that panicky feeling when a teacher says a publishing date. Your mind goes nuts. You keep thinking thoughts like will I finish it in time, is mine to short, should I add more, etc. It happens to me too.
ReplyDeleteAlso Michealaheres a tip if your worred about grammer and vocabulary before you print your final copy and when you are writing drafts have a friend or family member read it and gie you tips and ideas to inprove your work. If you think you have a typo have you computer do a spell check.
I agree with Bria i feel that the teacher wont like my work because it wont be good enough or somethig but I kinda do the same thing as Bria.
ReplyDelete-Kylie Harris
One aspect of my publishing that makes me nurvace is that I think I write one thing and I write the other. And I dont want my teacher seeing my bad work. One aspect I feel confident about is my use of launge and the decription of the words I use.
ReplyDeleteBria,
I also feel nervse when I hand im my papers. One way I overcome it is I re-read my paper alot and make as many changes as I can to make it better.
Kaitlyn Berry:)
When ms sills asked who wanted to say their personal narative essay I put my hand up. When I took my hand back down I could not believe I just raised my hand to read. I was so nervous to read in front of everyone. I dont know why I am. Just when I know I have to read infront of people I get nervous if I am going to mess up because I think it will just make the rest of what I am reading get messed up too, because I am focusing on the mess up I just did.
ReplyDelete-Mychala Conti :D
I agree with Samantha I also get really nervous when other people who have longer pieces than mine, I agree with Payton because I also am, well I think I am good at writing and when I read over my paper and I think its good and it still has grammer mistakes, and when she hands me back my paper and its not that good of a grade I get upset.
ReplyDelete-Mychala Conti :D
I agree with Bria because whenever I write a story and I reread it like about 3 times for spelling mistakes and toher stuff. And then when i hand in the paper i always think theres another thing i have to fix about it. Maybe if i just think to myself getting the highest grade or something good i might get over that fear.
ReplyDelete-payton.
One aspect of personal narrative that scares me is that I don't remember how to do one.It really freaks me out i'm afraid i'll do it wrong.
ReplyDeleteBut i could probably have someone check it to make sure its right
I'm pretty good at speech in my text because when I write my own stories I use speech a lot.
(comment to someones response)
Hey Matt I totally agree it can be nerve wracking not to get a paper back for a week and have to wonder if your wrote enough. That happens to me sometimes. But usually the papers aren't bad at all.
One aspect of publishing that makes me nervous is not knowing what the teacher will think of the beginning of my PN.It makes me nervous because the beginning is the main part of my PN for me because when the readers start reading it they might think " This first paragraph is boring, I might as will not read the whole thing." I don't want that at all, I want them to think of the positive things that are in my PN.
ReplyDeleteSomething I could do to over come this discomfort is to not over think about it too much.
One part about publishing that makes me nervous is is looking at everyone else's writing. There's always going to be a paper that has a cool cover or is written in beautiful handwriting. It makes me feel sad about mine.Something I could probably do to overcome this discomfort is to remind myself I worked hard on it,not to judge a book(or writing) by it's cover, and that the teacher's really nice. Also I have a freind who always looks at me like i'm really smart and she's always complementing my work.
ReplyDeleteOne part of publishing that i've overcome is feeling self-cconcious about the way I wrote it.I probably overcame this when my cousin told me: "Everyone has a unique way of writing because it tends to come from inside of us, and nobody can really describe the way you feel or felt, and when we write its something that comes from inside.Nothing is right or wrong, nothing is perfect or horrible. Its just we can't describe everything in just a couple of pages." I will always try to remember those wise words. They've helped a lot in seeing my writings true colors.
PEACE.
One aspect of publishing that makes me nervous is wondering of my narrative is any good. Sometimes I look back at my writing from a few years ago and think to my self "What was I thinking?! This is horrible!" but I think that that gives me more confidence to just try even harder. After I try harder I look back at my writing and think "Wow this is pretty good". And that's exactly how I want to feel.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is the part where it is mostly from you. The part you feel most strongly about. - Kaity Talmage...:]
I agree with Bria and Todd, I always have that weird feeling in my stomach before I hand something in. Like I did the project completely wrong. Or every one in the class did it differently or so much better than I think I did. But this is why I either call a friend and work together or meet somewhere and talk about it. But I think that this blogging thing is a great idea because it is the same thing but you can get in touch of your teacher, and you can really notice that you improved. I always am worried about the dialogue too, and especially grammar I was never my strongest with grammar. I think publishing dates are annoying because I think writing is kinda like a feeling, and having a limit to your feeling feels like " How am I gonna do this?" but if you take your time every day and don't do everything last minute your writing will be perfect. If you rush you will probably make many more mistakes than if you would if you took your time.- Kaity Talmage
ReplyDeletean asepect of publishing that makes me nervous is my paragraphs because i always do them wrong and also my grammer and punctuatin. soething i could to do to overcome my fear of publshing is before i hand it into the teacher is to maybe give itto someone else to read and then have them fix my mistakes. And an aspect of publising tha im comftorble with is the fact that when you hand it in you dot have to sress aout publishinn anymore.
ReplyDeleteI agree with michelle because i think it is a good idea tto let a friend read your work because they may find mistakes that you didnt.
ReplyDeleteMs. Sills I`m fixing my work, so i can have a better grade in the grade book.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is turning it in on time. I think it makes me so nervous because because I can never get it done until the last minute. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is work harder and make sure i have it.
One aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is the revising. Because it just makes me feel like I`ve done everything corectly. I think I'm already comfortable with this because I like making sure everything in my life is as good as possible.
-Anthony Smith
One aspect of publishing my writing that makes me nervous is the fact that it is being graded and that I don't know what I am going to get. I go through many revisions and try to catch as many mistakes as I can. Once I hand my paper in, I worry that I made a really dumb mistake and points will be taken off for that. The only way I can I can overcome this discomfort is to think to myself, "Hey! I checked that paper many times. There is nothing wrong with it that I could find. I did a good job, so relax and stop sweating the small things."
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is that I know when to use strong literary devices without making my writing sound forced. I am comfortable with this because I learn how to do so from the books that I read. After practicing this technique for years, it comes a bit more natural to me when I write.
Karli, I also get nervous writing a piece with a short due date. I feel very rushed and sometimes don't write as well. I overcame this problem by working on my writing the first day it is assigned instead of finishing it at the last minute. You should try it too, if you haven't already done so.
ReplyDeleteHi its Dan.
ReplyDeleteI think it makes me so nervous because i dont know how good it will be and what kind of grade i will get on it so i get nervous. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is true harder and put more time and then ask for somebodys openion and probley that will help me more.
ReplyDeletekarli, sometimes i get nervous and dont feel right turning a piece in to because i dont know how good it will be. sometime i would do it at the last minute.
ReplyDeletePlease complete the following and add appropriate details to support your thinking.
ReplyDeleteOne reading strategy I find myself using often is using personification. I think I use this strategy so much because it helps me. For example,The chops of the other boats made my boat jump.
One reading strategy I know I don't use enough is dialogue I think I don't use this strategy much because it is harder to use. Maybe it would help me to use it more and then I would use this strategy more.
i agree with you todd because sometimes i need to check mines and i still find mistakes and that is why i look over mines twice.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is if my spelling is correct I think it makes me so nervous because i think shes goining to take off points Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is look over my work.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is when i get it done I think I'm already comfortable with is rewriting my work because i like to make it neat.
One aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is if i am going to get a good grade on it. I think it makes me so nervous because somtimes i dont get it and i dont think i try hard somtimes. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is to really try a lot harder and to read it over a few times and maybe have som one read it over edit it after i did and then that should make me feel comfterbal about handing it in.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is... I think I'm already comfortable with...because...

i agree with smatha and matt i get nervise when i dont write enough so i think i will not pass because did not write as much as the other person.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is the spelling I think it makes me so nervous because the teacher might take away points Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is look up the spelling words.

One aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is the fact of I way have mised something or may have said something wrong.I think it makes me so nervous because the fact of geting something wrong gives me a bader grade. IM FIXEN MY WORK
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing is that its really close to me and its good to publish it.what really makes me nervous is standing in front of so many people. I think it makes me so nervous because im afraid the audiance wont like it and i will look like a fool. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is imagen the crowd in there underwear to releave the stress.
One aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is that it will get me an a and so will this blog. I think I'm already comfortable with my work because Ms.Sills helped all of us overcome our fear because she made every single one of us go up their and read out loud. THANK YOU MS.SILLS FOR EVERY THING.
One aspect publishing my writing that really makes me nerves is if my teacher is going to like it, what if I made a big mistake and would if I get a low grade. Once I hand my writing in you wont get it back. I think it makes me nerves because I could of done better on my writing.
ReplyDeleteOne way I can over come this discomfot is I can start when I get it and really put your feelings into the story and think of it as a movie and show dont tell. I think if I started in the begining it would if been better.
One acpect of publishing my writing with I alredy have a comfortable feeling is being proud of myself weither I got a good grade or not.I think I am alredy comforaable with reading my story out loud because after I finish I feel proud and everynoe snaps for me. Yayyyyy!!

Bria I get that funny feeling in my stomach too when I hand in the paper. Maybe I can use that stradigy, to be proud of yourself.
ReplyDelete-TEANDRA JENKINS
i agree with kim, when i am about to hand in a published stoey i have to think to myself wondering if i could have done better or if i had to add more detail.
ReplyDeletekim
One aspect of publishing my story is, when I hand the story in I always worry about my grade that I am going to get. I think it makes me so nervouse because I always think that if I get a bad grade then what happens if I'm the only person with a bad grade. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is say I tryed my best and maybe I will do better on the next story. One aspect that I am already comfortable about is that I get my stories in on time. I think I am comfortable with the publishing dates because I know when the story is due and I always start writing once I get the chance.
ReplyDeleteSamantha, I always worry about the same thing to. I just try to ignore the situation. But I know that doesn't really solve much.
ReplyDeleteCassie, I agree with you 100%; I'm always afraid that other people will judge my work, and they won't like it. But just remember that it doesn't matter what other people think, it's what it means to you. :)
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing that makes me nervous is my grades. Last yer I would work for hours on my writing and do my best but I would still get an 85. To my parents, passing a test or an assignment was to get a 90 or above so I would always let them down. I am nervous that that will happen this year too. I would revise and edit, then when I print out my final copy and reread it on the bus I would find a mistake and think that my grade would suffer from it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with John because I get really scared about making really dumb mistakes too. My parents always stress me to not make mistakes. If I make a dumb mistake I turns into 2,then 3, then 4 and the problem just gets worse. I also finish my writing early so I have time to do revisions or so I don't have to wake up stressful knowing I have to do a project today.
ReplyDeleteone aspect of publishing my writing that makes me nervous is when its being reviewed by my mom or my dad. I know they will find something wrong with it and they will end up handing in a totally different piece than the original copy.it makes me nervous also when your handing it in and your thinking to your self is it good enough, will they like it or how good is everyone else's ? i overcome this fear by reading over like 30 times and each time i find a correction I have to make I re-read it an extra time. sometimes if my friends read my story I feel nervous to see what they think . but I wont get nervous if I re-read it a lot. that is the way I over come my fear OF publishing
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is the deadline and spelling. When I type my writing, which is just about all the time, Im afraid that I will skip a letter or a word or sentence will not come out right because I will proofread something too quickly and not pay attention to it. Then, I lose points for stupid mistakes like that.
ReplyDeleteSomething that I coulds do to over come this discomfort would be to try to make my proofreading more thorough.
Dealines also scare me because I always feel kind of rushed even if I think it was perfect, I will ALWAYS find something that I feel I could have wrote or done diferently.
i agree with Kaitlyn berry because thats how i feel when i hand in my paperer and i read it a lot to make sure its all good and ready to go.
ReplyDeleteHi Varitta, That makes sense why you would be nervous about that. I guess I am a little scared about that as well. Something you could do over come this fear would be to , ya not think about it that much, but to also have confindence in yourself. Think the reader will love it. And if you are still uncomfortable about your piece, there might be something that needs to be fixed. That is what I do and the way I think. So just have confidence and you'll be fine!
ReplyDeleteA few things I dislike most about publishing is not putting enough dialouge into my story. I know in my thoughts what I want to write but it doesn't always come out onto paper clearly. This causes me to struggle and feel nervous when handing in anything I have written because I always feel it's not good enough.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I feel comfortable with when I write a story is the topics I choose. I'm comfortable with that because I chose the subject and I'm writing what I know. I may still have that problem of being nervous but its my story.
publishing was easier then i thought i read 1 or 2 sentences from my personal narrative and it was easy to release all my fear of what other people have to say about my writing but i was wrong.
ReplyDeletep.s. miss sills this is my writing for wednsday
I am now comfortable with my publishing.Well at least I am kinda getting there.A little more practice with publishing and im good.I think the reason that I get nervous when sharing what ive done is because I write things that are personal to me.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is sometimes i wait till the last minute so i have to end up cutting out part of my story. I think it makes me so nervous because i might get a lower grade because the main part of the story is cut Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is start writing my stories when they are first assigned.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is im not afraid of people seeing my story. I think I'm already comfortable with sharing my stories because i overcame my fears of being scared of showing my stories.
well thats the point your supposed to be nervous about sharing your stories but i think we all will overcome it sooner or later
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is writeing about football because that is something I'm proud of because I am really good at it. I have been playing for a long time and I'm comfortable with writeing about
ReplyDeleteI think I'm already comfortable with...because... I have been writeing about it for a long time and i feel comfortable with taleing about it and telling others about it.
One aspect of publishing my writing that always makes me nervous is I am always afraid I will hand it in to the teacher and there will be a mistake or two that I can't change. I think it make me so nervous because I know once I hand it in I can't fix the mistake and might get a bad grade because of it. Something I could do to overcome the discomfort is I can proofread it a bunch of times and give it to other people to proofread to make sure there is no mistake and than I will not have to worry.
ReplyDelete-Amanda Baron
Owen, I agree with you I worry about my grade too but if you do yuor best you will most likely get a good grade.
ReplyDelete-Amanda Baron
One aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is when I turn it in and see that all the other kids writting looks alot more neat and they have better topics and ideas then mine. I think it makes me so nervous because I always want to get a good grade on my writting and if I see that the other kids did something different then it makes me think i will get a bad grade. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is not worry about what other kids writting is about or how their paper looks different then mine.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is picking topic. I think I'm already comfortable with pickinng a topic because I always choose something that im interested in writting about.
iitskaylaax0-
ReplyDeleteIf you feel your writting is not good enough then you should read your story over again like you were the reader and you just picked it up and had no clue what it was about and if it makes sense and has no errors then you know that its ready to hand in.(Thats what I do when im nervous that my paper isnt good enough.)
I agreed with Teandra about if the teacher is going to like your story or not because they're the one who's grading it. I think that's a really good idea to put your feelings in the story and think of it as a movie.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing makesbme nervous is the wait time from handing it in and getting it because I want a good grade and I want to know right away. It makes me nervous because I always want the best grade and I can never wait to get it.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of my writing that I am comfartable with I a the comments from the teacher because I know I can use them to my advantage to make a better writing piece next time and get a better grade.
ReplyDeleteI agree John. The fact of geting graded makes me nervous of geting grade that I was not expecting.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing that is the grammar because I don’t know where to put commons or explanation points .it makes me nervous because I really don’t know where to put any of the grammar. Something I can overcome from this discomfort is putting it on Microsoft word and edit it .one thing I am already comfortable with is the expressions and show don’t tell . I am already comfortable because the things like expressions are easy and the show don’t tell is easy also . - claudia rupp
ReplyDeleteI aggre with you dorathey t i also do that cause it is hard to go through the day with the fear of getting a bad grade. one way you can get out of that disconfert is be 100% confident when you hand it in and not be scared of the grade it just a grade its not gonna make you think less of yourself .
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of turinig my writting into the teacher is that I might get a bad grade I think this makes me so nervous because grades are important to me one apect of publishing that makes me comfertable is that I worked really hard on it and I think mrs. sillis will like it, I think im comfertable with this because I have faith in mrs. sillis liking my story.
ReplyDeleteNicholas Mikelinich
hey julia it is nick I feel the same way I always feel nervous about my parents reading my story because its hard to tell if they approve of the story.
ReplyDeleteNicholas Mikelinich
One aspect of publishing that makes me uncomforatable is turning my finished product in to the teacher. I think it makes me so nervous because I know I will be graded on my work and I sometimes feel like my story isn't exciting enough or I didn't pick the right topic. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is to try to expand my story or spend more time choosing a topic.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of my writing with which I'm comfortable is my spelling and grammar. I think that I am comfortable with this aspect of my writing because when I'm done writing, I do the spell check on the computer and proofread my work several more times for meaning errors that the computer didn't catch.
Maria, I sometimes have the same problem. I don't like deadlines either, but they are an important part of writing. If Ms. Sills didn't give us a deadline, I know some of us (including me) would still be in the seed stage of our narrative. I can't function without deadlines, even though I dislike them.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is dialog. I think it makes me so nervous because I dont know how to add it and where to put it, and when I do I dont know how to use it. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is ask for help, or drop myself more into the story and try to figure out what they say and when they say it.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is hymonyms. I think I'm already comfortable with hymonyms because I know the meanings to hymonyms. I also dont get mixed up easily.
-Michelle Danowski
One aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is trying to read it out loud. I think it makes me nervous because everybody is that I have all of the attention. Something I can do to overcome this is trying to calm down. One thing that makes me feel good while publishing is showing how hard I worked. I think it makes me feel good because it shows I took some time to make it good.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jason. I also get nervous when I am about to hand it in. Everytime I wonder if I made any mistakes and how many points are taken off.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that makes me nervous about publishing is reading my story aloud. I get nervous when doing this because I'm not a good public speaker and it gets to me when everyones eyes are on me. One thing I could do to overcome this is really get to know the people in my class.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand something I'm already comforatble with publishing is asking for help if I dont get what I'm suposed to or simply need help. I think im comforatable with this because I've had nice teachers who I didnt mind asking obvios questions I didn't know the answers to.
I agree with travis I also worry about my grade I always think I'm going to fail and i get scared. this makes reading my story to every one even worse.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is that usually when people read my writing they correct it and tell me how to make it better. I like it when its an essay for Social Studies or something like that but when its my personal writing I really don't like it when people try to rewrite it for me so it sounds better. I think it makes me so nervous because I usually have stuff wrong with my writing. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is to go over my writing more even though I usully do.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling with is passing. I think I'm already comfortable with publishing because I usually get 90's even if I screw up with some spelling mistakes.
Maria, I can understand your problem because i get it sometimes to. I sometimes screw up when i'm proofreading and get really angry at myself for making stupid mistakes. One way that i have learned to prevent that from happening is to proofread it a couple of times and ask someone else to also. They will probably pick up your stupid mistakes and this should eliminate your problem.
ReplyDeleteJulia, I think that that's a good way to overcome your fear and I will try it next time, but what I do is that while I'm writing if I finish a paragraph I'll re-read it for mistakes and to help me get ideas for the next paragraphs.
ReplyDelete-Kim Guthrie
Ms.Sills what is another way that I can over come my fears of publishing in front of different/new people.I find it hard to do when people you know always have something smart to say.
ReplyDeleteMake up-I think that if I ignor what other people have to say about my writing I can overcome anything mainly my fears.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is that when I'm about to give my published work I reread it and I find that I messed up on something or I repeated myself(Ex. I ran down my stairs and I went out my door and I put on my shoes and I went to my mom's car)and I can't fix it because I usually type them on my computer and I get a little mad. I think it makes me so nervous because the teacher will probably take off points and if I got a 93 and I mess up on it,my grade would probably go down.Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is to reread it more than 1 time and ask someone else to read it and tell you what they think about it.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is the details and the characters and the setting and the theme of my story(P.N.)I think I'm already comfortable with the details because I try to remember and I asked my mom about that day in my story so I could get the vivid picture.
maria123abc,
I agree with you I also stress about the dead line and the spelling but if you type it on the computer on Microsoft Word it helps you by underlining the miss spelled words in red and then it gives you words that sound like it or the word you meant to spell.
-Nicole Pieta :]
I agree with JJ because you never know what the teacher is going to think about your story. I am always nervous about handing in any kind of work because I never know if it is good enough. The way I try to get over my nervousness is trying to stay positive. I know if I worked on something real hard then I did the best I could. Staying positive helps me not to be so nervous about my grades.
ReplyDeleteone aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is when i see other peopls writing and its very long and mines very short. i think it makes me so nervous because i dont want to lose points on the length of my writing. something i could do to overcome this discomfort is to try and write a little more.
ReplyDeleteNICK PATTI
one aspect of publishing my writing with witch i already have a comfortable feeling is details. i think I'm already comfortable with this because i was there when it happened and i remembered everything that happened.
ReplyDeleteNICK PATTI
One aspect that makes me nervous about publishing is handing in my finished piece. I wonder what grade i got all week long then when i hand it in I think about stuff i could have done better.
ReplyDeletei agree with owen i get scared after i hand it in i didnt fix all mistakes. The more i try to fix mistakes and the more i think about it the more stressed out i get.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is that im not sure if i used enough show dont tell and if the teacher will like my story. I think it makes me so nervous because I want to get a good grade so i get worried. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is to think positive about my story and know that I liked how my story came out.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is that I like is the topic I choose beacuse it was something very personal but it gives me something to write about. I think I'm already comfortable with writing something personal because i have writen personal stories before and the grades have been very good and also i dont care writing personal stories and reading them out bto the class!
-Heather O'Connor
Julia that is a good idea to just keep reading it if your having trouble. And also if you are getting worried about your freinds reading it dont be. If they are your friend sthey will like it !
ReplyDelete-Heather O'Connor
One aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is if I have to read it out loud. I think it makes me so nervous because I’m afraid that I’m going to mess up. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is to think I’m just reading it to myself.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is writing it. I think I'm already comfortable with this because it is my writing and nobody can say I wrote it wrong.
-Michael McKay
One aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is if I work really hard on a piece and I get a bad grade on it. I think it makes me so nervous because I want everyone to enjoy my piece like I did, and I want my hard work to show when it gets graded. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is to remind myself that as long as I worked hard and I have done all that could of done to make the piece the best it could of been, I know that I have accomplished something in my writting. I also know that I can learn from my mistakes from writting too.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is asking others for opinions on my piece before handing it in. I think I'm already comfortable with asking others for help because I can take critizism well, and I want to do what ever I can to make my piece better.
Elise Littlefield
Kaity I agree with you sometimes you look back on pieces you wrote before and you can't belive you wrote something like that that. But as long as you know that you worked hard on your piece and that you put alot of effort into it, thats all that really matters, and your piece is the best it can be!
ReplyDeleteJohn, I think that everyone gets the feeling that they could of done more once they handed in their piece. Just have confidence in your piece! Don't worry so much because even if you spelled a word wrong or forgot a comma, it doesn't mean that your piece isn't good! Your teacher might think you were the best one who demonstrated show not tell! Also you could use this as a learning tool to re-read and edit your piece, multiple times before handing it in.
Elise Littlefield
iitskaylaaxo I agree with you. I too feel the same way. In my thoughts the story is complete. On paper my dialogue is not the same it is always missing something.
ReplyDelete-Michael McKay
one aspect that makes me nervous is that my diologe and structure is not the best . i could have broke down my writing and showed who was speeking.
ReplyDeletemichaela, same thing. silly things like grammer and spelling like alot really knowing it is spelled a lot. or making my sentence run on
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is that I always wonder if the story makes sense to a reader. It makes me so nervous because I know what I mean but some people might not. Something I could do to overcome this disconfort is that I could ask somebody to read it for me and tell me if it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is the spelling. I think I'm already comfortable with spelling because I always double check hard words and I make sure they are spelled and used right.
-Matt Conforti
I agree Maria123abc, deadlines also make me nervous. What I do to not worry about if I still need to do something is that I finish early and then I have time to make corrections.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Samantha because when I see someone who has a story that is longer I automatically think, hers/his is better then mine. I don't know why I do but I do. If you also do what I do you should just ask them if you can read it and it might be better then yours but it might not
ReplyDelete...................................Sarah Nine
The only think I don't really like about publishing personal narratives is that you have to read them out loud witch does not keep the concept of the word personal. Normally if I read something out loud even, if it is happy, my voice cracks and i get all shaky.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect of publishing my writing that really makes me nervous is how it was about my last vacation with my dad before he had past away I think it makes me so nervous because i dont really like talking about my dad to people Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is just realize its ok.
ReplyDeleteOne aspect that I am already comfortable about is that I get my story in on time. I think I am comfortable with the publishing dates because I since i know the publishing date is whatever day i make sure its done atleast 2 day before the publishing date.
- Nicholas Duarte
I agree Elise Littlefield. I feel nervous too I work really hard on a piece and I get a bad grade on it because i would feel dissapointed and feel that it is very unfair.
ReplyDelete- Nicholas Duarte
One aspect of publishing my writing (turning it in to the teacher) that really makes me nervous is when i give my paper to the teacher and i think i still have mistakes on the page. I think it makes me so nervous because i could get a lower grade then i should have gotten. Something I could do to overcome this discomfort is to keep on checking my work untill its perfect. One aspect of publishing my writing with which I already have a comfortable feeling is that when i write my piece the teacher migh have a different feeling then me and not understand it. I think I'm already comfortable with is reading a part of my story to the class because it's not really that bad.
ReplyDeleteMichaela i agree with you when you said that the teacher might not understand the piece of wrighting the way that you do. I kinkd of have the same problem but i try to overcome it by not worring about it.
